An eyecare foundation model for clinical assistance: a randomized controlled trial

We are proud to announce that the article “An eyecare foundation model for clinical assistance: a randomized controlled trial” has been published in one of the most prestigious journals, Nature Medicine (IF 50). The publication presents the results of a randomized controlled trial in which a AI foundation model was applied in clinical practice. 

The study was led by Prof. Tien Yin WONG  (member of our Council), and co-authored by our Council members, including Prof. Pearse Keane, prof. Paisan Ruamviboonsuk, Prof. Andrzej Grzybowski.

The International AI in Ophthalmology Society (IAIOph) is a not-for-profit society to integrate both health care professionals and computer scientists to share important initiatives, scientific knowledge and practical applications of AI in Ophthalmology. The Society should be also involved in supporting legal regulations protecting the responsible introduction of AI to health care.
